Word Spreads About Roofie Emails On Campus

JRC- Grinnell College students have recently been made aware of an unsettling development on campus, as Campus Security has warned students of an influx of emails regarding the presence of date-rape drugs on campus.

In a campus-wide announcement on PioneerWeb, Director of Security Stephen Briscoe warned students, “Roofie emails can be slipped into your inbox at anytime.”

“To protect yourself, do not leave your email unattended and be wary of accepting emails from people you do not know well. To be even more careful, make sure that you open and read your own emails, and don't share your emails with others. It is often wise to use a buddy system when checking email, so that you and your friends keep an eye on each other and log off at the same time,” Briscoe wrote.

In addition to roofie emails, students are now on the lookout for roofie Pweb announcements, based on reports from roofie articles in this week's publications.
