First-Years Find True Love

Landen and Roeford, the happy couple who might as well bow to the inevitable and get married.

During the course of NSO, star-struck first-years Alex Landen and Natalie Roeford found true, long-lasting love.

“The first time I saw her, I was standing in the pasta line at dinner,” said Landen, holding his newfound partner-for-life. “She was texting right in the middle of traffic, and no one could get past her.” He paused to sigh. “It was like the room stopped moving.”

During that dinner, Landen and Roeford awkwardly made eye contact a few times before he worked up the courage to join her table.

“He was so cute,” giggled Roeford. “I knew right away that I would love him for the rest of my life.”

Though Landen was equally smitten, the moment he knew she was the love of his life came later that night.

“We walked over to the sex talk and sat together,” he recalled. “We were holding hands, sort of listening to the talk. Then the speaker made a penis joke. I looked up into Natalie's eyes, and I that's when I knew she was the one.”

In the several days that followed, the future Mr. and Mrs. Landen continued to realize how perfect they were for each other. “We both love Drake's new album. Can you believe that?” said an incredulous Landen. “What are the odds?” Roeford also pointed out that “Inception” is their favorite movie. “We've been together for three whole days, and we've only fought like, five or six times,” claimed Roeford. “It was meant to be.”

“It hasn't all been roses, you know,” admitted Landen. “We went through a rough patch last night, when I got drunk and hooked up with one of her friends.” He paused and placed a hand on Roeford's knee. “But you have to have the bad times to know when it's good.”

Natalie's roommate, Stephanie Kelowich '14, is extremely happy for the couple. “They're so lucky. They've only been here a few days, and they already know who they're going to spend the rest of their lives with.” Stephanie found out about them when Natalie switched her relationship status on Facebook to “married.” “I think it's inspiring, to see that true love really does exist. It gives me hope.”

When asked to comment on the inseparable couple, Landen's roommate, Steve Dawford '14, replied, “What?”
